James McCrystal, Jr.
James L. McCrystal, Jr., is a partner of the firm. Mr. McCrystal was elected Managing Partner of the firm April 2004. Mr. McCrystal's focus is on the representation of manufacturers and suppliers in products liability litigation. In addition, he handles significant commercial and construction matters and professional liability cases.

Mr. McCrystal is admitted to practice in all Courts in the State of Ohio as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth and Sixth Circuits, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. McCrystal graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1973, having obtained his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University in 1970, in history. Mr. McCrystal is a member of numerous professional organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Products Liability Advisory Council. He was President of the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys in 2002-2003. He actively participates as a member of the International Association of Defense Council, where he has served as Chairman, Business Litigation Committee, 1993-1995; Chairman, CLE Board, 1994-1996; and Chairman, Technology Committee, 1997-2000. He is serving as the Defense Research Institute State Representative for Ohio and has been a member of the steering committee for the Defense Research Institute Business Litigation Committee and also serves in a similar role on the Technology Committee. He is a past president of the Cleveland Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, the John Carroll University Alumni Association, and the Friends of the Western Reserve Historical Society Library. Additionally, he serves on the Ohio State Bar Association’s Judicial Administration and Legal Reform Committee. For more than 25 years, Mr. McCrystal has lectured extensively in numerous forums on a wide range of trial advocacy issues including discovery of electronic data, challenges to computer-generated evidence, deposing the financial expert and combating the spoliation of evidence. He authored the Ohio chapter in the Defense Research Institute publication, Admissibility of Expert Testimony. He is Program Director for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy Great Lakes Deposition Program and of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy five day Trial Advocacy Program sponsored by the Cleveland Bar Association.
