E. John Brzytwa, Jr., is a partner
of the firm. Mr. Brzytwa's practice at Brzytwa, Quick & McCrystal
emphasizes commercial litigation, particularly disputes involving
products liability, aviation, construction and commercial issues.
Mr. Brzytwa has experience working with interpreters from his prosecution
of cases on behalf of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in Japan
and Vietnam. He has represented the USMC in North Carolina, Virginia
and California as well. Subsequently, Mr. Brzytwa was involved in
the supervision and coordination of federal multi-agency investigations
of organized crime suspects in the Pacific Northwest, including Alaska
and Hawaii, during his tenure with the United States Department of
Justice. He has extensive defense experience in jury, non-jury and
appellate cases in front of federal and state courts involving a variety
of issues including medical malpractice, electric utility negligence,
automobile negligence, aviation negligence, insurance, school board
strike litigation, Uniform Commercial Code litigation and creditor’s
rights litigation.
He is admitted to practice in all Courts in the State of Ohio, as
well as the United States District Court of the Northern District
of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Ninth
Circuits, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit,
the United States Court of Military Appeals and the United States
Supreme Court.
Mr. Brzytwa graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1968.
He is a 1965 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College where he was a
three-year
letterman in varsity football and a four-year letterman in wrestling.
Mr. Brzytwa is a Master of the Bench and past president of William
K. Thomas American Inns
of Court; a member of the Defense Research Institute; the Ohio Association
of Civil Trial Attorneys; and of the Cleveland and American Bar
Associations
(member, Section on Litigation, Co-chairman, 1994 Annual Meeting;
Chairman, Aviation Committee, 1988-1990); past member of Governing
Committee,
Air Space Law Forum). Mr. Brzytwa's military status is Lt Col USMC
Reserve, Ret.
